Retou was a continuation ritual of return of Dreading Port au Prince. After the hair that was donated from all the barber shops and people we created a dread where symbolically we are all weaved together into something united and strong. From Port au Prince I traveled to Cap Haitian, where the first slave ships arrived. The location chosen is a very special and energetic place where sweet water mixes with salt water. After the ritual of carrying it, washing it, and saying goodbye the dread was released into the water. Because of the currents we thought it would be washed off but the dread disappeared into the sea, witnessing an incredible energy and movement that the dread performed on its own.
